NJ Realtors® Advocates for Ordinance Repeal in Toms River

Toms River experienced real estate transaction delays and saw some of the highest Certificate of Occupancy fees in the state, due to the town's requirement to obtain a Municipal Certificate of Continued Use and Occupancy when a home is sold. New Jersey Realtors® worked with local Realtors® and our local board in the area to advocate for a full repeal.

The repeal process has just begun, with the Toms River Mayor suspending enforcement of the MCCUO requirements until the Council formally repeals it, which is expected at an upcoming town council meeting.
